Tourism Fiji is working with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to get local craft exhibitors to be a part of the Fiji Tourism Expo 2015.
According to Tourism Fiji director of events Sally Cooper, the organisation expected the expo to be a very successful event. "We want FTE to be different each year to showcase different aspects of Fiji," she said.
"Although the main event is in the same location, this year we are incorporating a night of Fijian fashion.
"The Victoria Wines Food and Wine Festival will feature different cuisines from Fiji along with beverages from Victoria Wines and the last night will be a beach party with local entertainment and beverages from Law Hill."
Ms Cooper said buyers who were a part of the expo were given an opportunity to liaise with a range of travel professionals in order to forge partnerships to sell Fiji as a destination.
"The expo raises awareness of Fiji as a destination and the broad range of products and services available here. In addition to travel professionals, Tourism Fiji has invited international media from the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, China, India, Korea, New Zealand and Australia to attend the event.
"We have reached our targets already in regards to exhibitors and we are pretty close to reaching our targets for buyers with two weeks of registrations left."
The expo will be held at the Denarau Convention Centre from June 15 to 19 this year.
